2009-2010 PARENT ASSOCIATION

The Parent Association works on behalf of all parents in an effort to build and support the MSM Community. Through the 14 committees that make up the Parent Association, we provide many opportunities to become involved in the school. A complete list of these committees, along with a description and committee chair information are located on Parent Association Committees page.

Who we are

The Parent Association is comprised of parent volunteers.  As a group, we are committed to maintaining and creating an environment that is welcoming and inclusive of the entire MSM community.

What we do

• The Parent Association works to support all aspects of the School’s educational and fundraising goals.
• The Parent Association coordinates and supports all the volunteer committees at the School to achieve its strategic goals.

Strategic Goals

1. Build a sense of community throughout the School
2. Promote volunteerism
3. Welcome new families to the MSM community
4. Facilitate communication between the School and parents
5. Raise capital through fundraisers such as the Innisbrook, Book Fair and Auctions

Parent Association Membership

All parents and guardians of current students attending MSM are automatically members of the Parent Association.

Meetings

The Parent Association holds two general meetings (fall 2009 ad spring 2010).

Organization

1. Governing Documents:  By-Laws of The Parent Association are posted on the By-Laws page.
2. Governance. Officers of the Parent Association Executive Committee are elected at the Spring PA meeting.
3. The Parent Association Executive Committee

• The Executive Committee is responsible for implementing the strategic goals of the Parent Association.
• The Parent Association Executive Committee consists of four members:  President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
• The Parent Association Executive Committee meets throughout the school year (September-June) to discuss financial and organizational matters.

COMMITTEES

SPRING GALA (April 24, 2010)

The PA will host a cocktail party for parents to network and socialize.  All the proceeds raised from the spring gala will benefit the school and it’s development of MSM's new muliti-purpose room.

AUCTION (April 9-24, 2010) 

From April 9th to April 24th, the Parents Association is hosting its Annual Auction.  This is the largest yearly fundraiser run by the Parents Association.  The goal of this year's Auction is to raise $15,000 to purchase much-needed gym equipment for MSM's new muliti-purpose room.  The room is used each week by ALL students for physical education classes and, during inclement weather, is used daily for recess too.  Your child and MSM will benefit directly from the Auction, so please join us in making it a success!
