Music, Chorus, & Drama

We at MSM thoroughly enjoy sharing music with students, and all students have Music class! Younger children enjoy singing songs, rhythm instruments, and creative movement.  The Toddler class will share a typical music class with their parents twice a year, and Primary classes present a musical program to parents during the winter and at the end of the school year. All Elementary students enjoy music theory and appreciation, and participate in the MSM Chorus, and Upper Elementary students learn recorder from beginning to advanced levels. Elementary students have the opportunity to display their talents during the annual Recorder and Choral Concert in the Spring and other performances during the year.

Chorus and Drama

Music is integrated with Chorus and Drama Classes offered to students in the Elementary. The Lower Elementary students present a musical at the end of the year celebration. The Upper Elementary students present an adaptation of a Shakespeare comedy, and have been selected to perform at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C. during the annual Emily Jordan Folger Children's Shakespeare Festival in May for the last 15 years, and also present it at the school at the end of the year celebration.
