Field Trips
We are so fortunate to live in the Nation’s Capital and have so many wonderful places to take our students to enrich their educational experience! MSM students go on many field trips each year. Primary classes go on 3-4 field trips per year, and Elementary classes go on 1-2 field trips per month.
Every fall, the Lower and Upper Elementary classes all go together on a 2-day overnight field trip! On a six year cycle, the focus each year alternates between science and history. Historical trips are taken to Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Virginia’s Historic Triangle (Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown). Science trips are taken to the Virginia Beach area, the Chesapeake Bay, and Philadelphia. Each spring, the Upper Elementary participates in the Montessori Model United Nations in New York City, and has even traveled to China for an MMUN event!
