MSM has been offering exceptional Montessori education to children aged 2 – 12 in the Northern Virginia area since 1973. We encourage you to complete the Inquiry Form below so that we may share information on visit opportunities and the application process. We are committed to supporting you as you navigate the admission process and determine the right school for your family.
 
As a reminder, the priority application deadline for Fall 2024 admission is January 15, 2024. Families who submit an application by this date will be notified of their decision in early March. Applications received after this date will be notified on a rolling basis. Please reach out to the Admission Office for more details. You can reach us by calling our main office at 703-790-1049.

TODDLER – 2 YEAR OLDS

age 24 months through 36 months

  • Parent(s) are highly encouraged to attend one of our Toddler/Primary Parent Information Webinars
  • Parents are highly encouraged to tour our school and observe one of our classrooms on select days/times this fall and winter. Visit opportunities will be emailed to prospective families this fall.
  • Complete and submit our online application along with additional documentation by the application deadline of January 15
  • Parent(s) participate in an individual Zoom call with members of the Admission Committee to review your application and answer your questions
  • ​​​​​​​Notifications are sent the first week of March

PRIMARY 3 – 6 YEAR OLDS

age 3 by September 30 through age 6

  • Parent(s) are highly encouraged to attend one of our Toddler/Primary Parent Information Webinars
  • Parents are highly encouraged to tour our school and observe one of our classrooms on select days/times this fall and winter. Visit opportunities will be emailed to prospective families this fall.
  • Complete and submit our online application along with additional documentation by the application deadline of January 15
  • Parent(s) and child participate in an individual Child Visit and Parent Meeting with members of the Admission Committee to review your application and answer your questions
  • ​​​​​​​Notifications are sent the first week of March

ELEMENTARY 6 – 12 YEAR OLDS

  • Parent(s) are highly encouraged to attend one of our Elementary Parent Information Webinars
  • Parents are highly encouraged to tour our school and observe one of our classrooms on select days/times this fall and winter. Visit opportunities will be emailed to prospective families this fall.
  • Complete and submit our online application along with additional documentation (including a teacher recommendation) by the application deadline of January 15
  • Parent(s) and student participate in an individual Shadow Visit. Parent(s) meets with members of the Admission Committee to review your application and answer your questions. Student participates in a half-day visit in one of our Elementary classrooms
  • Notifications are sent the first week in March

When enrolling, parents should intend to continue enrollment throughout the entirety of the three-year program in which their children are placed, and should also be open to learning about the Montessori approach to learning at the Elementary level (grades 1 – 6)

  • for the Primary level, the three-year program encompasses the Kindergarten year
  • for the Elementary level, this is through the third year for Lower Elementary (age 9), and through the sixth year for Upper Elementary (age 12)
